Basics of Mechanical Engineering

Basics of Mechanical Engineering
Basics of mechanical engineering with introduction to all courses, subjects, topics and basic concepts - I have personally interviewed many mechanical engineers for jobs at various companies. During several interviews, I have observed that many job seekers give incomplete answers or wrong answers to some of the technical questions asked during interview. This gives a very bad impression and chances of losing the job opportunity increase.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is not easy for all engineers to remember all basic concepts of mechanical engineering because over time, our memory fades away and we can only remember those things which are continuously in use in our daily routine life/ job activities. Here on this mechanical engineering website, I have compiled all the basic concepts of courses taught in mechanical engineering degree. Some important subjects have already been added and more mechanical engineering courses will be added soon.

It is advisable for all mechanical engineers to keep on revising these concepts. It will help them improve work efficiency and performance in interviews for better jobs. When you are a mechanical engineer, everyone expects you to give answers accurately to some of the basic questions about mechanical engineering concepts. After a few years of graduation, mechanical engineers even forget what entropy and enthalpy is.

    1. Dear Farhan,
This is just a start. I am currently working on adding few more topics from subjects like Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Design and Manufacturing, Robotics etc. As soon as these subjects will be added, a pdf will be compiled for all students :)

  2. Respected Sir,
I find these topics very sure to be asked during interview. But is it possible that all these above topics are present in the form of a single book named interview q&a for mechanical engineering?? Bcoz i would be happy to purchase it.

    1. Thanks a lot Kailas. Do save the link for future use and recommend it to your friends as well. If a mechanical engineer gives wrong answer to a basic mechanical engineering concept, it is simply a rejection in interview.
